My name is Reneoue Kortjaas, Male 20years of age, i have recieved all of the emails sent to me by WEC, and i must say that they have been all empowering and motivational to me. after reading each email, i learnt something new, interesting and real about how the workplace is shaped.
I am currently studyin a degree in information management and wish to complete my studies at the end of 2014 and start working for myself or within an organisation that has an influence on a larger scale in South Africa.
Although i havent attended any of the career workshops and SME events i strongly support the statement that students show little interest in ingredients needed to empower your career, as we are of an idea that once you are in varsity, there is no particular rush to get familiar with what your career has in store for you. escaping with the bare minimum to pass an satisfy parents is more important than taking initiative and control of the career you intend to take part in; and this is where the mistake most students(including myself) make.
Recently realised that it is important to have a clear idea of the career you intend to venture into as this makes you aware of your own capabilities and if these capabilities will be enough to ensure that you are a successfull in getting into that particular career.
Spending more time and money learning about your career is important and the WEC has been a highly motivational facet in me empowering myself into the career i’m interested in.
