With each passing year, the South African dream moves closer to the darkness. The gradual breakdown in the political, economic and social order is due to the spread of corruption. In the public and private sector, pick any high profile crisis since 1994 – it is likely to involve shady relationships, breach of trust in office, string of mediocre decisions gravy trains of cash and cover ups. Justice if it does come; is a slap on the wrist. In record time, the perpetrators are back in the game as heroes and comrades. Taxpayers settle the bills and life goes on until the next crisis. How many individuals and deals are hiding in the dark, never to see the light of day because the organisation sweeps it under the carpet? It is time to smash corruption.
